Does it need an internet connection?
No. Board recognition and engine analysis both run on your phone. Once the app is installed you can use it fully offline — on a plane, on the underground, anywhere.
Do I have to create an account?
Never. There is no sign-up, no login and no profile. Nothing about your positions is uploaded or stored on a server.
Which apps can it read screenshots from?
Chess.com and Lichess are supported directly, including their board themes and piece sets. It also handles diagrams from books and websites — anything where the board is square-on and unobstructed.
What if a piece is recognised wrongly?
Drag it to the right square. The engine re-analyses the moment the position changes, so a correction costs you one tap.
Is it free?

Is using it cheating?
Analysing your own positions is how every strong player studies. Using it during a live rated game against another person breaks the rules of every chess site — that is on you, not the app.
